This Week's Same Time, Same Station Program Schedule:

Himan Brown

This is part 1 of a two week show devoted to the life of Himan Brown. He was born on July 21, 1910 and died on June 4, 2010. He was about a month shy of celebrating his 100th birthday. His passion for bringing back radio was unmatched and he will be remembered for the old shows he produced and directed as well as his newer ventures.

We'll hear this week about the shows from the Golden Age of Radio from Flash Gordon in the Thirties, to Inner Sanctum Mysteries, Dick Tracy, Terry And The Pirates, the Goldbbergs, and many more. John and I were fortunate to have interviewed him on several occasions during the 1990's, and you'll hear portions of those interviews plus three radio shows from his past.

On this week's Same Time, Same Station, we continue our tribute to Himan Brown.

We'll hear clips from "The CBS Radio Mystery Theater," plus, "We The Living", as well as some explanation from Himan Brown about how he got the Mystery Theater on the air. We'll also hear about his passion regarding new time radio.

I've personally never met anyone with as much passion for the radio art form as Himan Brown.

He died on March 1st and four days later JP Mcarthy did a special program with recollections from Brace Beamer and the Lone Ranger cast.
